Kingfishers Stick Dirty Reds with 7-3 Loss
|
A 3-RBI performance from Jorge Napolez, who led the PL in stolen bases with 73 in 2047, helped the Pittsburgh Kingfishers beat the San Mateo Dirty Reds, 7-3. Todd Hunter, who went 7.2 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 3 runs on 9 hits, while walking 3 and striking out 5. His record now stands at 1-1. The loss drops San Mateo to 5-6.
With Pittsburgh leading 3-2 in the bottom of the fourth, Napolez hit a 2-run single off San Mateo hurler Sylvain Richard. It was the 13th hit of the season for Napolez and put his team ahead, 5-2.
"Winning is all that really matters and we got it done today," Napolez told the Pittsburgh Bulletin.
