Patriots Get Past Montana for 5-4 Win
|
Montana got a decent performance from pitcher Marx Lieftink, but it wasn't enough to beat the Boston Patriots. Boston won the Panda Park contest, 5-4. Lieftink threw 6.0 innings allowing 3 runs for the losing team. The save went to Greg King, his 2nd this season. Boston is 6th in the Premier League with a record of 41-42.
Lance Slaymaker made it 5-4 in favor of Boston when he delivered a 2-run single. It came with one out in the top of the eighth. The Patriots went on to win.
"We believe in ourselves and we're willing to work hard. It's a good combination," Slaymaker told the Boston Daily News.
