Boston beat Mississippi on the strength of starter Iiri Lahti's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a win, 5-3. Earning his 4th save for Boston was Jorge Gil. The 7th-place Patriots sport a record of 36-40.

Boston used the bat of Cho-yun Yip to get the win. The designated hitter hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Patriots ahead, 4-1. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it did its damage.

"I'm trying to keep it simple," said Yip. "Just do my job."
