San Mateo got a first-rate effort from pitcher Peer Slooters, who frustrated Boston hitters en route to a 2-1 Dirty Reds triumph at Lang Park. In 6 innings, Slooters surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 8 and walking 1. He allowed 1 run. Chris Plautz recorded the save for San Mateo, his 12th of the season.

The Dirty Reds got an important contribution from right fielder Elliot Banks, who in the bottom of the fourth knocked a 1-2 curveball into left for a 2-run home run. It was his 5th home run of the season and put the Dirty Reds ahead, 2-1.

"I like what I saw today," said San Mateo manager David Dodds, "and I can't wait to get back out there and do it again."

The Dirty Reds sit in 9th place in the Premier League with a record of 29-36.
