Dirty Reds Collect 4-3 Win Over Athletic Club KC
|
The San Mateo Dirty Reds did just enough to sneak past the Athletic Club KC, 4-3, at Athletics Park. San Mateo pitcher Sylvain Richard, in particular, had a standout performance. The Athletic Club KC, now 17-20, have lost 4 in a row.
San Mateo used the timely hitting of Andrew King to seize the win. The center fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the 12th inning to put the Dirty Reds on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We came out on the wrong end of this one," said Athletic Club KC skipper Andy Mayfield.
