The MSL Thunder Bay Northern Lions BC topped the MSL Vancouver Grey Wolves, 5-2, in M3L Mexican Summer League action at MSL Thunder Bay Ballpark. The game was highlighted by the performance of MSL Thunder Bay designated hitter Alejandro Gutiérrez. The winning pitcher was Gutiérrez, now 3-6. He tossed 7 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 9. Armando Flores sewed up the save, his 1st.

Su-chang Kang, who is tied for 4th in the 3MSL in bases on balls with 18, chipped in for MSL Thunder Bay with a 2-run single in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the left fielder had 3 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 2 singles, 1 run scored, and 3 runs batted in.

"Alejandro just went about his business, throwing strikes," said MSL Thunder Bay manager Ricardo Ruíz.

The win puts the Northern Lions BC at 18-22, while the Grey Wolves drop to 24-16.
