The 9-2 MSL St. Louis win over MSL Thunder Bay was due in large part to Pancho Díaz. The Coeur second baseman went 3 for 5 with a home run and a triple. He scored 2 runs and drove in 5. Marvin Dailey got the win, improving to 8-1. He pitched 6 innings, giving up 5 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 8 and walking 0. The Coeur now have a record of 21-16 with the win over MSL Thunder Bay.
Díaz contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for MSL St. Louis in the bottom of the fifth. With his team trailing 1-0, Díaz took a fastball from Alejandro Gutiérrez and stroked the home run to right-center. His 1st home run of the season allowed the Coeur to leap in front, 3-1.
"We'll relax tonight and enjoy this win," said Díaz.
