The MSL St. Louis Coeur went down to defeat to Ryobe Kikuchi and his MSL Montana teammates. The final score was 3-1 in favor of the Pandas. Alfredo Gómez, now 3-0, was credited with the win. He allowed no runs on 2 hits, while striking out 2 and walking 0. Jesús Randín earned the save, his 7th, for the Pandas.
Vicente Mejía drove in one run for MSL Montana. The 17-year old catcher had a key at-bat in the bottom of the seventh. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring ground out off Marvin Dailey. It was his 10th RBI of the season.
Afterward, Pandas manager Hong Wei Cao was ebullient. "That was a fun game to coach," he told a group of reporters, adding, "I hope it was just as fun to watch."
The first-place Pandas go to 17-8.
