Grey Wolves Get Past MSL Santa Catalina for 4-3 Win
|
Alfonso Ramírez was outstanding against MSL Santa Catalina. The left-hander, who leads the 3MSL in strikeouts with 58, had a slider that was virtually unhittable at times. The result was a Grey Wolves 4-3 win. Horácio Sarmento notched the win in relief. The left-hander allowed 2 runs on 3 hits in 3.1 innings. His record now sits at 2-0. Clyde Green, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 1st save.
Marino Pierleoni drew 1 walk in his only trip to the plate for MSL Vancouver. The 17-year old second baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the eighth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 3-3 tie with a run-scoring walk off Andre Coenraadts. It was his 1st walk of the season.
"Anything I can do to help the team win," said Ramírez.
The Grey Wolves saw their record improve to 14-6.
