MSL Thunder Bay Ballpark was the site of a competitive game between the MSL Thunder Bay Northern Lions BC and MSL St. Louis Coeur.
The MSL St. Louis Coeur had to overcome a fine performance from MSL Thunder Bay pitcher Alejandro Gutiérrez to grab a 2-1 win at MSL Thunder Bay Ballpark. Gutiérrez allowed 2 runs over 7.1 innings. Servaas de Beeld picked up the save for MSL St. Louis, his 2nd of the year.
MSL St. Louis used the clutch hitting of Yoshihito Takeuchi to capture the win. The third baseman drilled a run-scoring double in the top of the sixth inning to give the Coeur the lead, 2-1. For the game, Takeuchi had 2 singles and 1 double in 4 at-bats.
Takeuchi told the MSL St. Louis Chronicle: "Win or lose, I don't want to see our team outhustled."
MSL St. Louis goes to 4-0 with the win.
