Piranhas Deal Bullets 5-2 Defeat
|
Panama City picked up a win at Baltimore Grounds, bumping off the Baltimore Bullets, 5-2. Pitcher Guy Riggs was a major reason the Piranhas emerged victorious. The winning pitcher was Riggs, now 8-2. He tossed 6.1 innings of 2-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 9. Jeffery Meyers earned the save for Panama City, his 3rd of the year.
Panama City relied on the hitting of Jonathan Boden to pick up the win. The designated hitter clubbed a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Piranhas on top, 4-2. For the game, Boden had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"What we get, we earn," Riggs told the Panama City Times.
The Piranhas now have a mark of 37-21.
