Leviathan Lose to Bullets, 4-2
|
Baltimore right-hander Kevin Brown pitched his team to victory over the Nova Scotia Leviathan at Baltimore Grounds. The final score was 4-2. Brown, now 8-4, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 9 hits, while striking out 3, walking 0, and allowing 2 runs. Gene Greene earned the save, his 2nd.
In the top of the ninth, Juan Martínez stood in the box, looking for a pitch to hammer. The Leviathan were trailing 4-2, but had runners on 1st and 2nd. That's when Gene Greene made a terrific pitch and Martínez struck out. Gone was the dream of a Nova Scotia comeback.
With the win, Baltimore pushed its record to 31-21.
