Slaybaugh Belts Number 200
|
The crowd roared -- they knew they were seeing history -- and Jason Slaybaugh was delighted, too. The 38-year-old Cattlemen first baseman was making history with his 200th career homer. The crowd buzzed and roared again when Slaybaugh stuck his head out of the dugout for a curtain call.
"Never, as a kid, did I ever think I'd hit even one," he told BNN after hitting No. 200 in a 7-0 victory over Baltimore. Slaybaugh went 1-for-4 in the game, had 3 runs batted in, and scored 1 run.
In his career Slaybaugh has gotten 1200 hits with a .266 batting average, scored 673 runs, hit 200 home runs and driven in 664.
