|
Gwinnett Guinea Pigs starter Daisuke Yoshikawa was in fine form against the Virginia Beach Whales at Experimental Stadium, leading his team to a win, 7-3. Yoshikawa, now 8-3, was the winner. In 7.1 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 9, walking 1, and allowing 3 runs. Virginia Beach has now lost 4 in a row.
In the bottom of the sixth, Gwinnett pinch hitter George Mayes put his team on top. With one out and a runner on 2nd, he hit his 15th home run of the year. Virginia Beach pitcher Santiago Díaz served it up. Just like that, the Guinea Pigs were ahead, 4-3.
