A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks and Mercer Island Screaming Eagles.
The Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks defeated the Mercer Island Screaming Eagles, 6-1, at Mercer Island Grounds. Andrew Brown was a standout performer for Ft. Polk South. His 3 hits included 1 single and 2 doubles, in addition to the 2 runs he scored and 1 he knocked in. Bob Archer earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed 1 run on 1 hit in 2.2 innings. His record is now 3-2.
With Ft. Polk South leading 1-0 in the top of the fifth, Brown hit a run-scoring single off Mercer Island hurler Geoffrey Da Costa. It was the 79th hit of the season for Brown and put his team ahead, 2-0.

The win puts the Thunder Hawks at 56-40, while the Screaming Eagles drop to 64-32.
