Ku hits 2 home runs, Leads Screaming Eagles to Win
|
The Gulf Coast Turbeaus and Mercer Island Screaming Eagles were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd.
The timely hitting of Ji-hoon Ku helped the Mercer Island Screaming Eagles down the Gulf Coast Turbeaus, 7-1. Ku was 2 for 3 with 2 home runs and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice for the Screaming Eagles. Mercer Island starter Francisco Encarnación was credited with the win after throwing 97 pitches over 6.1 innings. His record now stands at 12-1.
Alberto Hernández took Douggie Westcott deep in the top of the first. His 2-run home run put the Screaming Eagles on top, 2-0. In all, Hernández had 2 singles in addition to the home run, while going 3 for 5.
"I really like what we did out there today," Ku said after the game.
Mercer Island is now 62-30, 3 games up in the Premier AA.
