Thunder Hawks Edge Past Guinea Pigs, 5-4
|
Good production from designated hitter Juan Castio helped the Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks topple the Gwinnett Guinea Pigs, 5-4. Castio went 3-7 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2 for the Thunder Hawks. Reliever Hilario López picked up the win. His record improves to 4-0. Jorge García took the loss. The win puts the Thunder Hawks at 52-35, while the Guinea Pigs drop to 49-38.
The game was decided with two out in the bottom of the 13th. With Ft. Polk South trailing 4-3, Castio hit a slider from Jorge García for a 2-run home run. Just like that, the Thunder Hawks had a walk-off win.
"The game of baseball will test you," said Hiroji Nakagawa, the Ft. Polk South skipper. "This one tested us."
