Floundering Ogres Lose 9th Straight
The Squirrel Hill Pierogis topped the Olympia Ogres, 8-6, in USPL Double A action at Field of the Rawhides. The game was highlighted by the performance of Squirrel Hill pitcher Jim Givens. Olympia is in the throes of a 9-game losing streak.

Squirrel Hill won the game in the bottom of the ninth inning. With one out and Bill Richardson on the mound for Olympia, first baseman Jov Shantsev hit a dramatic 2-run home run, bringing Pierogis fans to their feet.

"It was a nice win for our side today," said Pierogis manager Aaron Barnes. "Not perfect, but we'll take it."
