Guinea Pigs Deal Ogres 4-3 Setback
|
Experimental Stadium was the site of a competitive game between the Olympia Ogres and Gwinnett Guinea Pigs.
Olympia got a decent performance from pitcher Seung-gwan Kim, but it wasn't enough to beat the Gwinnett Guinea Pigs. Gwinnett won the Experimental Stadium contest, 4-3. Kim threw 6.0 innings of 3-hit ball for the losing team. The win was credited to Daisuke Yoshikawa in relief. His record improves to 7-3. Seung-gwan Kim took the loss. Rex Davis got credit for the save for Gwinnett. It was his 22nd of the year.
Gwinnett designated hitter Charles MacMurdo produced at a critical juncture. It happened in the bottom of the eighth with Juan Romero on the mound and Gwinnett leading 3-0. MacMurdo grounded out, driving in 1 run.
"Winning is the only thing that really matters," MacMurdo told the Gwinnett Citizen. "If you can win without even breaking a sweat, more power to you."
Gwinnett has a record of 46-35, placing them 4th in the Premier AA.
