Screaming Eagles Need Extra Frames to Get Past Thunder Hawks
The Mercer Island Screaming Eagles topped the Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks, 3-2, at Thunder Hawks Ballpark. Mercer Island second baseman Daulat Mitra banged out 2 singles and 1 double, while driving in 1 runs. Mercer Island now sits in first place in the Premier AA at 51-24.

Mercer Island used the timely hitting of Seppo Kimmonen to seize the win. The shortstop stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Screaming Eagles on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.

During his postgame press conference, Screaming Eagles manager Ricardo Vargas told reporters that he expected a tight game from the get-go. "This had the potential to go down to the wire, and it certainly didn't disappoint," he said, later quipping, "it might've been a little less nerve-racking if I had been watching the game from my couch!"
