Whales Beat Thunder Hawks, 7-5

Jim Willis knocked in 3 runs to help Virginia Beach beat Ft. Polk South, 7-5. Willis produced 2 singles and 1 home run. At 36-33, the Whales claim 6th place in the Premier AA.
Virginia Beach used the bat of Iván Vega to get the win. The third baseman hammered a grand slam home run in the top of the first inning to put the Whales ahead, 4-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it did its damage.
"I don't feel you win baseball games by working harder than the other team or 'wanting it more,'" Willis told the Virginia Beach Citizen. "You win just by scoring more runs."
