Gwinnett right-hander Albert Surtees pitched his team to victory over the Crescent City Krewe at Field of the Krewe. The final score was 4-2. The win gives Gwinnett a season record of 35-28.
Gwinnett used a well-timed hit by Charles MacMurdo to capture the win. The designated hitter socked a 2-run double in the top of the third inning to put the Guinea Pigs ahead, 2-1. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
"Winning is the only objective," said MacMurdo after the game.
