Haddow Brilliant as Pierogis Top Screaming Eagles, 2-0

The Squirrel Hill Pierogis topped the Mercer Island Screaming Eagles, 2-0, in USPL Double A action at Field of the Rawhides. The standout performance belonged to Squirrel Hill pitcher and Watford, England, native Oliver Haddow. Richard McCord closed the door for Squirrel Hill, picking up his 8th save of the year. The Pierogis improve their record to 20-41 with the win over Mercer Island.
It was an impressive turn from the legendarily hard-working Haddow, who tallied 7 strikeouts in 7 innings while allowing just 2 hits. Haddow, who is rated as the 53rd best prospect by BNN, goes to 2-0 on the year with 30 strikeouts.
"We didn't score," said losing manager Ricardo Vargas. "That was the problem."
