Starting pitcher George Butler did his part in helping the Virginia Beach Whales thwart the Ithaca Fighting Imps, 2-0. Carlos Martínez closed the door for Virginia Beach, picking up his 6th save of the year. The Whales sit in 7th place in the Premier AA with a record of 29-27.

Yosai Hayagawa, who is tied for 10th in the PAA in doubles with 12, helped out the Virginia Beach cause in the bottom of the sixth inning with a run-scoring sacrifice fly. For the game, the second baseman drove in one run.

"We did just enough to win," Hayagawa said.
