A 4-RBI performance from center fielder Jim Willis, who is tied for 4th in the PAA in extra base hits with 25, led the Virginia Beach Whales to a win over the Ithaca Fighting Imps, 6-2. Virginia Beach pitcher Keanu Kolora got the win, upping his record to 2-1. Ánibal Fernández got the loss. Their 28-27 record puts the Whales 7th in the Premier AA.
Willis came through for the Whales in the bottom of the second inning. With Virginia Beach leading 1-0, the center fielder drew a walk, driving in 1 run. It made the score 2-0, Virginia Beach.
In postgame remarks, Willis said: "To all who've been doubting my effort -- I hope they saw this game."
