Fighting Imps Need Extra Innings to Top Screaming Eagles, 11-10
Extra innings were needed to determine a winner at Imps Park.

Takeo Okamoto added some punch to the Ithaca offense, helping them outmuscle the Mercer Island Screaming Eagles, 11-10. In the game, Okamoto, who is tied for 8th in the PAA in extra base hits with 18, went 2 for 6 with a home run and a double. He drove in 6 runs and scored once. Ithaca reliever Ángel Hernández picked up the win to move to 1-1. Jeff Cook suffered the loss.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the 12th inning, when Ithaca first baseman Bob Fox, facing Stuart Fossett, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Fighting Imps the 11-10 win.

"What a game," said Okamoto. "We needed every last run."

Ithaca is in 8th place in the Premier AA with a record of 14-30.
