Screaming Eagles Snatch Late Win
Mercer Island right fielder Joey Pinches picked up 3 ribbies while helping his team beat back the Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks, 8-7. Mercer Island reliever Paul Kartodirdjo picked up the win, raising his record to 1-1. Bob Archer was tagged with the loss. At 26-10, the Screaming Eagles claim second place in the Premier AA.

In the bottom of the ninth, with two out and the game tied, 7-7, catcher Lorenzo Gallardo won it for Mercer Island. With a runner on 1st, Gallardo hit a first pitch fastball from Bob Archer for a run-scoring double, giving his team the 8-7 win.

"This wasn't a good win," said Gallardo. "It was a great win."
