Field of the Krewe hosted an old-fashioned pitchers' duel.
The Crescent City Krewe beat the Gulf Coast Turbeaus, 2-1. Crescent City pitcher and New York, native Dennis Sims led the way. Ron Ward finished to wrap up his 3rd save.
Rick Wilson had a big 2-run home run for the Krewe in the bottom of the second inning. With Crescent City trailing 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he got a fastball from Douggie Westcott and swatted a home run to right. It was his 4th home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Krewe ahead, 2-1.
"Enjoyed this one," Wilson told the Crescent City Daily News. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
The Krewe raised their record to 23-8.
