The Gulf Coast Turbeaus defeated the Squirrel Hill Pierogis, 6-3, in USPL Double A action at Field of the Rawhides. Gulf Coast pitcher Douggie Westcott had a standout performance. Alfredo Ramos recorded the save for Gulf Coast, his 1st of the season. Squirrel Hill's current losing streak is now 4 games.

Gulf Coast used a well-timed hit by Gustave Garavini to capture the win. The third baseman socked a 2-run double in the top of the first inning to put the Turbeaus ahead, 2-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.

Garavini called the win "a collective effort."
