Crescent City Wins 2-1 to Continue Red-Hot Start
|
In a low-scoring game between the Crescent City Krewe and the Mercer Island Screaming Eagles, pitcher Greg Carter was masterful on the mound. The Crescent City right-hander spearheaded his team's 2-1 win. The winning pitcher was Carter, now 3-0. He tossed 6 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 3 and fanning 6. Melis Ooyendijk recorded the save, his 9th.
Crescent City relied on the bat of Dave Martin to get the win. The designated hitter produced a solo home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Krewe ahead, 2-0. For the game, Martin had 1 double and 1 home run in 3 at-bats.
"Runs were at a premium," said Crescent City manager David Martínez.
The loss puts Mercer Island at 13-5.
