DY-NO-MITE: Willis Blasts 4 Against Fighting Imps
Fans at Imps Park won't soon forget the raw display of power put on by Virginia Beach Whales center fielder Jim Willis today. Willis smashed 4 home runs in Virginia Beach's 9-6 victory over the Ithaca Fighting Imps.

"To be honest with you, I have never even thought about hitting this many home runs in a game," Willis said to reporters after the game. "Only legends hit this many home runs in a game and I ain't no legend."

In his history-making performance, Willis victimized Ithaca hurlers for 4 hits in 6 at-bats with 4 runs scored and 5 RBIs.

"What he did was unbelievable," said Ithaca manager Gary Thomas. "My guys gave it their best, but he hit some fine pitches. He was like -- he was in automatic home run mode today. He just had that great swing. It didn't matter what we threw him. It was gone."
