Turbeaus Bridle Ogres, 1-0
|
Gulf Coast starter Chris Byrd had a strong outing against the Olympia Ogres at Mobile Home Park. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 1-0 win. Bruno Dares was called on to finish, recording his 2nd save. The victory makes Gulf Coast 3-4.
The Turbeaus got a big at-bat from second baseman Daniel Richardson. For the game, Richardson went 1-3 with a home run. In the bottom of the fourth, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 1st home run of the season gave Gulf Coast a 1-0 lead.
"I don't feel you win baseball games by working harder than the other team or 'wanting it more,'" Richardson told the Gulf Coast News. "You win just by scoring more runs."
