Echo Park Bats Go Silent in 4-0 Loss
|
The Baltimore Bullets topped the Echo Park Lakers by the score of 4-0, with the biggest share of the credit going to right fielder Gavrie Germashev. Germashev went 1 for 1 with a double. He drove in 3 runs for the Bullets on the day. The win was credited to Perry Cox in relief. His record improves to 2-1. Mike Tate took the loss. With the win, Baltimore goes to 60-39, while the Lakers fall to 39-60.
The Bullets got an important contribution from center fielder Jorge Rocha, who in the bottom of the sixth hit a 1-2 fastball into right for a solo home run. It was his 6th home run of the season and put the Bullets ahead, 1-0.
"I like to keep things lively in the clubhouse," said Germashev. "Believe me, it's much easier after a win."
