July's Premier Pitcher Announced by 3AA Monday, August 1st , 2050 Upon hearing the news that he had won the M3L Double A Pitcher of the Month honors for July's work, Marquette reliever Javier Cuesta merely smiled. "That's just the kind of guy he is, and that's what makes him so good out there," his manager told reporters. "The guy has ice water in his veins. Nothing short of a League Championship could get this guy excited and I'm not so sure that'd do it either." Cuesta made 12 relief appearances burning through 15.1 innings as he racked up 8 saves, 11 strikeouts and held batters to a .228 average as he notched a 1-0 record and a 1.17 ERA. Thus far this year Cuesta has picked up 18 saves. He has also compiled a 2-0 won-lost mark with a 0.52 ERA and in 34.1 innings fanned 22. |
