Routledge and Letroit Brawl, League Suspends Them Monday, May 30th , 2050 Yesterday at Nationals Park Conor Routledge and Wop Letroit got into each other's space and then into each other's face. They began to grapple and fell to the ground. That's when it boiled over into a full-fledged bench-clearing tussle between the Ottawa Nationals and Toledo Saboteurs. Reason finally prevailed as the umpires restored order. After much discussion, only the two major combatants were ejected from the game. Today the league office notified the ballclubs that Routledge will have to sit out 5 while Letroit would be given a 6-game suspension for their roles in the brawl. For the season Routledge is currently batting .226 with 3 home runs and 13 RBIs. In 22 games he has reached base at a .312 rate and scored 13 runs to date. |
