The Syracuse Storm got a stellar performance from pitcher Milton Kirksey, who handcuffed the Mancelona offense en route to a win, 4-0, at Torch Field. With the victory, the Storm record now stands at 41-52.

Kirksey, a native of Manhattan, New York, was dealing all game. He kept Mancelona hitters off-balance, while giving the Storm 8.2 quality innings. Kirksey threw 120 pitches, allowing 5 hits and striking out 8.

"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said Syracuse skipper Vincent Hall.
