Godfathers Rally to Eke Out Win
|
The Pontiac Godfathers faced a tough opponent in Rocky Mountain pitcher Juan Estéves, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Pontiac Copperdome by a final score of 3-2. Estéves went 7 innings and allowed 1 run. Dae-ki Chang picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 2-2. Sean Hamilton was tagged with the loss. Today's win puts Pontiac at 30-54, while Rocky Mountain falls to 34-50.
Curt Ingram won the game for Pontiac when homered off Sean Hamilton in the bottom of the tenth.
During his postgame press conference, Godfathers manager Allen Yohemas told reporters that he expected a tight game from the get-go. "This had the potential to go down to the wire, and it certainly didn't disappoint," he said, later quipping, "it might've been a little less nerve-racking if I had been watching the game from my couch!"
