Jorge Vázquez pitched well, but his team, the Washington Generals, still dropped a 3-1 decision to the Grand Forks Caterpillars at The Cocoon. Reliever Arnold Huber picked up the win. His record improves to 5-2. Jorge Vázquez took the loss. Nelson Shaffer picked up the save for Grand Forks, his 15th of the year.
Héctor Mata, who is tied for 7th in the 3A with a .856 OPS, contributed to the Grand Forks win with a 2-run home run in the bottom of the first. For the game, the designated hitter had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 runs batted in.
"We missed opportunities once again," said losing manager Nick Hoskins.
Washington has now lost 5 consecutive games.
