The Put-In-Bay Commodores wiggled past the Caldwell Chiefs, 4-3, at Pipers Ballpark. The win was highlighted by the performance of Put-In-Bay pitcher Esam bin Ahmad. The winner in relief was Jesús Milano. He is now 4-3. The right-hander allowed no runs on 3 hits in 4 innings. Mike Young closed the door for Put-In-Bay, picking up his 2nd save of the year.

Put-In-Bay used a clutch hit from Jason James to get the win. The left fielder drilled a solo home run in the top of the 17th inning to put the Commodores ahead, 4-3. It was his only hit in 8 at-bats, but it was a doozy.

"We had a chance to win," said Caldwell manager Kevin Fields, "but we didn't get it done."
