Kobayashi Excels in 6-1 Alameda Win
|
A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Alameda Airmen and Niagara Falls Expos.
The Alameda Airmen topped the Niagara Falls Expos by a score of 6-1. Leading the way was catcher Kuma Kobayashi. Kobayashi went 3 for 4 with a home run and a double. He drove in 4 runs and scored once for the Airmen. Picking up the win was Sanya Matlah. He went 5.2 innings, allowing 1 run on 3 hits. The right--hander struck out 7 and walked 4.
Kobayashi had a big hit for Alameda with one out in the bottom of the second. With Alameda leading 1-0, Kobayashi hit a 3-run home run. It was his 1st home run of the season and put the Airmen up, 4-0.
"Good baseball players make you a smarter manager," said Alameda manager Gonzalo Féliz.
With the win, Alameda pushed its record to 22-22.
