Win Streak Now at 9 for Storm
|
The Syracuse Storm overcame a fine performance by Niagara Falls center fielder Brock Allen to defeat the Expos, 5-4, at Waterfall Park. Allen went 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Syracuse reliever Jorge Ramos got the win, raising his record to 2-0. Jami Jokinen was tagged with the loss. Alfie Brotherton collected his 3rd save.
Syracuse used the clutch hitting of Marvin Roberson to capture the win. The designated hitter drilled a run-scoring double in the top of the seventh inning to give the Storm the lead, 5-4. For the game, Roberson had 1 single and 1 double in 4 at-bats.
"I wouldn't want to be playing us right now," said Syracuse manager Vincent Hall.
Syracuse has a 9-game win streak, while Niagara Falls has lost 3 in a row.
