Bulls Need Extra Frames to Get Past Torch
People outside the ballpark no doubt heard the roar of the crowd as the winning run crossed the plate.

The Mancelona Torch got a superb performance from pitcher Brendan Tate, but the Belleville Bulls still won the game, 7-6. Tate came in in relief and pitched to 19 batters. Belleville reliever Dick Hill picked up the win, upping his record to 3-2. Sergio Cruz shouldered the loss.

The Bulls relied on right fielder Ray Sloan for the game-winning hit. And, in the bottom of the 11th, he delivered, hitting a run-scoring single to seal the deal.

"Our team showed some spunk," said Sloan.

Belleville is now 20-12, while Mancelona is 21-11.
