Fur Traders Handed 4-1 Loss by Asheville
|
Pitcher Yermolay Olhivsky was sensational for the Asheville Highlanders in his team's 4-1 triumph over the Tacoma Fur Traders. Olhivsky picked up the win, and it was well-earned. Olhivsky got the win, improving to 5-7. He allowed 4 hits and walked 2 over 6.1 innings. Olhivsky allowed 1 run. The save was credited to Tom Young, his 18th.
In the bottom of the fifth, Asheville third baseman Rutger McGroarty had a productive at-bat. With a runner on 2nd and two out, McGroarty stroked a run-scoring single to left-center. It made the score 3-1, Asheville. For the game, he was 2 for 4 with 2 singles.
"Our goal is to improve each and every day," Olhivsky told the Asheville Chronicle.
Asheville bumps their record to 56-46 with the win.
