Farmers Lose By a Run at Ottawa, 3-2
|
Ottawa Nationals starter Darwin Donovan was locked-in. He led his team to a win over the Lancaster Farmers, 3-2. Donovan, now 3-2, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 8 hits, while striking out 2, walking 0, and allowing 1 run. Ottawa is in 7th place in the Menard's AA with a record of 50-49.
Johnny Scott had a big 2-run home run for the Nationals in the bottom of the third inning. With Ottawa trailing 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he got a fastball from Lu Tan and swatted a home run to left. It was his 8th home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Nationals ahead, 2-1.
"We were in it," said Lancaster manager Tracy Williams. "We just didn't score enough runs."
