Sixshooters Top Hops in Extras, 5-3
|
Yakima wasted an exceptional performance by pitcher Rich Cheyney, falling to the Westwood Sixshooters, 5-3. Cheyney threw 8.0 innings of 6-hit ball for the losing team. Mike White, now 3-6, picked up the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. The first-place Sixshooters have a one-game lead in their division.
Westwood used the clutch hitting of Derrick MacComie to capture the win. The center fielder drilled a run-scoring double in the top of the tenth inning to give the Sixshooters the lead, 4-3. For the game, MacComie had 1 single and 1 double in 5 at-bats.
