Nationals Pull Back to .500 With Win Over Farmers
|
Ottawa Nationals starter Dave Wilson was in a rhythm all game. He led his team to a win over the Lancaster Farmers, 2-1. The winning pitcher was Wilson, now 5-6. He tossed 5.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 3. Gary Dillon got the save, the 23rd for him this season.
Colm Sergeant had a critical at-bat with one out in the bottom of the sixth for Ottawa. He came through with a run-scoring single to put Ottawa in front, 2-0.
"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Ottawa manager Ismael González said.
Ottawa is now 49-49, Lancaster 47-51.
