Polar Bears Handle Fur Traders, 5-2
|
The Billings Polar Bears defeated the Tacoma Fur Traders, 5-2. Doing his part was catcher Fabiyan Jogov, who went 3 for 4 with 2 home runs. Picking up the win was Adam Harvick. He went 6 innings, allowing 2 runs on 2 hits. The left--hander struck out 4 and walked 5. Mike Thomas closed it out for his 8th save.
The Polar Bears got a big at-bat from first baseman Alistair Brigg. For the game, Brigg was 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the third, with the bases loaded, he stroked a grand slam home run. His 6th home run of the season gave Billings a 4-1 lead.
"I like to lead by example," said Brigg. "I'm glad I could contribute to a good win."
The first-place Polar Bears have a record of 55-42.
