Highlanders Spill Saboteurs, 8-0
|
Asheville turned a good effort from starter Andy Johnson into a win over the Toledo Saboteurs at Toledo Backyard Park. The final score was 8-0. Johnson got the win, improving to 2-5. He allowed 3 hits and walked 2 over 6 innings. Johnson allowed no runs. Anthony Patterson recorded his 1st save for Asheville.
Asheville second baseman Nathan Pretty contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the second. With two down, he hit a changeup into right field for a run-scoring single. It was his 94th hit of the season and put the Highlanders ahead, 3-0.
"It was our day today," Pretty told the Asheville Chronicle. "But we've got to keep our nose to the grindstone."
Asheville, at 50-44, sits in 5th place in the Menard's AA.
