The Yakima Hops knocked off the Billings Polar Bears, 5-1, at Hops Park. António Sáenz was a big reason Yakima won. The second baseman went 2 for 3 with a double. Robinson Ríos notched the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 4 innings. His record now sits at 2-0. Rich Cheyney collected his 17th save.
The Hops got a lift from right fielder Dennis Dooley, who in the bottom of the third hit a bases-clearing double. His 8th double of the season put the Hops on top, 5-1.
"We'll keep playing hard and let the chips fall where they may," said Yakima manager Markus Richardson.
Yakima has now reeled off 6 straight wins.
