The Lancaster Farmers withstood an impressive performance by Toledo shortstop Mark Newton to defeat the Saboteurs, 6-5, at Farmers Field. Newton went 2-4 with 2 singles and a walk, while scoring 2 runs. The winner was Lancaster reliever Troy Charles Jr., now 3-8. The loser was Wop Letroit. The loss makes Toledo 50-37.
New York-born Robbie Riding came through in the clutch. In the bottom of the eighth, with runners on 2nd and 3rd and the Farmers trailing 5-4, he hit a 2-run single to center to put Lancaster on top.
"We had the game right there for the taking," said Toledo manager José Zamora. "But we decided not to take it."
